Cheers Tombo, glad you liked it!

To peter c,
Glad you liked it too. It's nice to meet you, and I'm sure it's been said many a time, but your photo looks uncannily like erskine
Btw, I'm currently working on the blushda, and it's hard!

Love that clip!!! Thanks a million!!

Kim Plainfield is one of those ferocious NY wolves, very aggressive player, exciting to listen to. As Pocket said, his playing with Bill Connors is something else... I'd also recommend his recent solo CD "Night and Day" with Lincoln Goines co-leading...

Tombo... You're right, Brochu and Plainfield's styles have their similiarities, BTW they were together when they both studied Afro-Cuban concepts at Drummers Collective under the late Frank Malabe in early/mid 80's.

I'd say I prefer Paul's swing, groove, pocket and overall musicianship. Kim is a more agressive player though, hits harder I think. I love his stick control too, like the snare solo he plays on his drum method "Advanced Concepts" is verrrry good. When I think of Kim, I think of a Fusion drummer and I love Fusion so... Paul is more layed back, and when I think of Paul, I think of a "musician" who makes things happen no matter what style he's playing. You know, that edge that's very difficult to put into words... For me anyway...

Later,
